COURSE OVERVIEW
Build your career as a trade qualified plant operator with the nationally accredited Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations. Learn how to safely operate plant equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers and rollers, and work on exciting civil infrastructure projects in this booming industry.

Note: This training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding.

COURSE STRUCTURE
This course will run over 26 weeks. This course is delivered in modules and each module has a classroom, self-directed study, and practical component.

ELIGIBILITY FOR GOVERNMENT FUNDING
The Victorian Government is making vocational education and training more accessible to people who do not hold a post-school qualification, or who want to gain a higher qualification than they already hold. You are eligible for a Skills First-subsidised training place if you are:

• an Australian citizen

• an Australian Permanent Resident (holder of a permanent visa)

• a New Zealand citizen

And have commenced no more than:

• 2 subsidised courses in a year;

• 2 subsidised courses at the same time;

If you are enrolled at a school, you will not be able to receive a government subsidised training place for a course through Skills First.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
• At the time of enrolment, you must disclose any medications or disability which may affect your learning or physical ability to conduct safe operation of plant machinery (including any vision impairment)
• You must understand and speak the English language and have the ability to conduct Mathematical Calculations at a level that enables the safe operation of plant machinery
• You must supply your current drivers licence or another form of photo identification and Medicare card. Eligible students applying for funding must provide their health care card.
• All course participants will be provided with a student information book detailing their rights and responsibilities.

JOB PATHWAYS
This qualification is from the Resources & Infrastructure Industries Training Package, it can provide Job Pathways in the fields of Plant Operations in Road Construction, Civil Construction and the Mining Industry.

ASSESSMENTS
Students are required to demonstrate competence to the standard as prescribed in the assessment criteria. Qualified assessors will conduct a written and practical assessment at the completion of each unit of competency. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is offered to students who have previous experience in the industry.

PAYMENT & TRADING TERMS
All courses require a position holding deposit of 50% at pre-enrolment. Applicants will be advised of the amount prior to booking. Payment for the balance is required prior to the course commencement. Facilities include Credit Card, EFTPOS, Cheque or Cash.
NOTE: All course documentation is included in these fees.

CANCELLATION, NON-ATTENDANCE & WITHDRAWALS
A minimum of 3 working days (72 hours) notice is mandatory for cancellation or withdrawal from this course. Dependent upon circumstances, students may be offered an alternative date for training.

Should the student not wish to reschedule, 50% of the full fees will be retained by 1 Stop Driving School, the remainder of the fees will be returned to the original payee. There is no charge for a student to transfer to an alternative date provided the 3 working days (72 hours) notification is received.

In the event notification of cancellation is not received within 3 working days (72 hours) by 1 Stop Driving School and/or the student does not attend training, the full course fee will be applicable. The Student/Employer/Employment Agency is liable for full course fees upon non-attendance and will be invoiced accordingly.

If 1 Stop Driving School cancels the training course, then a full refund will be returned to the payer.

REFUNDS – A time frame of up to ten (10) working days is required to process refunds, any course materials or resources supplied to students are to be returned to 1 Stop Driving School upon cancellation, alternatively the cost of the materials will be invoiced to the client.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL) & CREDIT TRANSFER
Recognition of Prior Learning is a process where people are provided with an opportunity to have their skills and knowledge assessed that they have developed outside the formal education system, for example:- life experience, informal training or work experience. The process involves the student providing physical evidence of their experiences that correlate with the unit of competency, you will then need to partake in an interview with the RPL assessor to ascertain that sufficient evidence has been provided. Students are required to complete an RPL application and will be advised of the cost prior to enrolment. If the student intends to apply for RPL, they MUST advise administration prior to enrolment.

1 Stop Driving School will recognise the AQF VET qualifications and VET statements of attainment issued by any other RTO. Credit Transfer is available for students who have previously completed units provided the units are relevant to the qualification the student is enrolling in and can be identified as a current or equivalent unit of competency.

CERTIFICATION
This qualification is Nationally Recognised Training and applicants deemed competent at the conclusion of the course will be provided with a Statement of Attainment for units completed or a RII30820- Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations on completion of the full qualification and wallet-sized competency cards for plant machinery & first aid.

On the successful completion of the full course, you will receive the qualification which includes 20 units of competency, consisting of fourteen (15) Core Units and five (5) Elective Units and Statements of Attainment for a further nine (8) units.
